We offer four Elegance Awards for styling, design, and presentation:
Elegance Award, Pre-war
Awarded to the most elegant Pre-war automobile at the Concours. Selected by an Honorary Judge Team
Elegance Award, Post-war
Awarded to the most elegant Post-war automobile at the Concours. Selected by an Honorary Judge Team
Design Achievement Award - Closed
Awarded to the car judged best in design of a closed automobile at the Concours Selected by an Honorary Judge Team
Design Achievement Award - Open
Awarded to the car judged best in design of an open automobile at the Concours Selected by an Honorary Judge Team
Additional Special and Honorary Awards are as follows:
Branch Kerfoot Award
Awarded to the most distinguished Rolls-Royce. Kerfoot was a special volunteer of the event who had a passion for the brand and lost a battle with cancer. Selected by an Honorary Judge Team
Briggs Cunningham Award
Awarded to the most exciting American automobile. Cunningham was a great American sportsman who raced cars and yachts and was also a race car constructor, driver, team owner, sports car manufacturer and automobile collector who amassed a high-quality collection of automobiles that were displayed at the former Cunningham Museum in Costa Mesa, California. Selected by an Honorary Judge Team
Catherine Thyen Award
Awarded to an exhibitor who has contributed the most time and energy to the event over the past three years. Thyen was involved in founding the original ATSC Concours d'Elegance which was the origin of the Dana Point Concours d'Elegance. Selected by Catherine Thyen with assistance of a Concours Committee Member
Charles Hester Family Award
Awarded to the most exciting foreign automobile at the Concours. Hester was a significant supporter of the event, and its charities, in the past. Selected by an Honorary Judge Team
Chairman Dick Waitneight Classic Car Award
Awarded to the most deserving classic car present as selected by the Chairman.
Honorary Judges Choice Award
Awarded to the favorite automobile on the show field. Selected by all Honorary Judges
Kent Wilken People's Choice Award
Awarded to the automobile that the guests select as their favorite. Wilken has been, and continues to be a strong supporter of the event and its charities. Selected by Dana Point Concours d'Elegance Guests
Meguiar's "Finish Fantastique" Award
Awarded to the car with the best finish. Selected by Barry Meguiar plus one Honorary Judge
